Sleep deprived but in love and blessed

Being Amelia’s mother it’s a blessing! But let me tell you that I have dark circle around my eyes. I am sleep-deprived!

She is teething and using my breasts as a dummy during the night, or wakes up crying 5-10 minutes and then back to sleep.

Oh, yes, I am trying to wean her off but takes time.

We are in 2024 not 1995 when my inexperienced mother listened to a “witch” neighbour to apply some chilli powder around her breast to wean me off. My mother stated that my mouth was swollen and I cried all night long, well what would she expect!?

Amelia is just fine, playing while myself is sitting and wishing for 2 more hours of sleep.

Wait, are you wondering why I am not calling a family member to look after her while I rest? Good joke, there’s no one, apart from me and her Dad!

All her so-called family is in Romania, but even if we were in Romania I don’t see anyone coming to help, or maybe one of my sisters 🤔…

Some parents were blessed with childcare for free and others with this statement “Please pay your childcare fees by the 10th of this month 60% of your salary!”

With the rest of the 40% pay half of your rent, and welcome to the UK!

Amelia will be starting nursery in 1 week. Blessings and tears surely are about to happen 🙏

Parenting is all about loving unconditionally, waking up at 2 AM, paying nursery fees, wishing for 2 more hours of sleep when you know the Genie is blocked in the teapot 🫖  and drinking 5 coffees a day to keep that motivation and so much more.

Stay humble and honest, parents!

Blessings to you, reader.

Happy 2024!

We wish you a blessed new year!

The year 2023 was a blessing to me as a Mommy to Amelia
Started in early January to be a 24/7 Mommy and it was tough! Why, you may wonder, well not having anyone (apart from my husband) to support, and comfort you when the baby is sick, colicky is though, overwhelming!

Wished I had a friend, mom, or mother-in-law to at least tell me “Hey, let me hold her for 5 minutes, this shall pass too”.

My husband did all he knew and felt was responsible in that moment but having a woman support you as a new mom must be a blessing!

I learnt a lot this year, how to be more patient, resilient, emotionally stable, and organised as a Mommy while taking care of my home and family. I did it! In a week Amelia is turning 1.

Now, at the end of 2023, I can only be thankful for becoming a Mother.

Thank you as well for your support towards our families from Budila. 41 kids and 12 families had a splendid ✨️ Christmas 🎄

Social Phobia

A phobia is an extreme fear of something or a situation.

This is a complex phobia that can be developed after the adolescence period. We also call this ”social anxiety”.

Social phobia makes the person feel anxious when they have to be in contact with other people. They might be frightened that other people are going to criticise them or that they will do something embarassing.

Social phobia can be about only one social activity like speaking to group, called public speaking. This is common known as stage fright and can result in vomiting and may render the person literally speechless and unable to performe.

Let them be…

Being a parent comes with lots of responsibilities, worries, unanswered questions, challenges, headaches BUT the blessing is way greater than the 2 minutes of headache.

My baby loves playing with food, especially fruits 🍉 many parents will choose not to fulfil their wish but take the little joy away.

I know, playing with food can be categorised as waste of goods but I found a way not to. Here it is, let them be the way you want, you lead them.

Playing with the food can be beneficial for them, the texture, smell, taste, hand eye coordination is important and it’s happening at the same time they having fun.

Amelia had fun with the watermelon (rind) think is called.

Totul se schimbă, pare schimbat, nu-i așa?

First time parents – Holiday edition

Nappies, wipes, breast pump…

Oh, wait, what else… feels like I forgot to pack something! This is what I have been asking and checking weeks before actually flying out with our baby Amelia. Being a first-time parent comes with lots and thousands of worries/minutes, especially when travelling.
We’ve visited our families, friends in Romania for 13 long and tiring days. Baby Amelia was the main character on this holiday, treated like a princess by her grandma, uncles, aunts, cousins, godmother/godfather, our friends, and lots of ‘tanti de la țară’ grannies ( Grandma’s friends). Amelia had her moments when she was happy going from one person to another, but towards the end of the holiday she’s had enough, didn’t want to go to someone else apart from Mommy and Daddy, which was sad for Grandma.
I like being on time when a time is set for a meeting, it doesn’t matter if it’s a friend or a stranger, BUT this holiday I had to break this rule as Amelia was falling asleep or pooing at the ‘wrong time’. With a child you have 99 per cent to be late, that’s what I have learnt this holiday.
Amelia did amazing flying for the first time; smiling, being curious about what happens around her, grabbing and pulling everything it came to her hand…
I found it quite difficult to change her on the aeroplane because the change table/space is cramped! Oh, she managed to have a big explosion exactly when we landed and of course, the bathrooms were locked…so good luck to me trying to cover her not to stain my clothes, the smell was… I can’t describe it!
In conclusion, this holiday was full of surprises and different. Our next holiday will b in 2 months, going to Greece!
